Dr. Clay Webber was raised in rural Jackson County, Alabama on Putman Mountain, located in Paint Rock Valley. He is married to Amanda Hinshaw Webber and they have three children who attend Asbury High School: Josiah (senior) Abigail (sophomore) and Selah (7th grade). Dr. Webber resides in the Asbury community on his family's cattle farm. He is a product of rural public education in the state of Alabama. He is a first generation college graduate and a first generation doctoral degree holder, receiving his Ph.D from The University of Alabama. He has conducted research for the last 6 years on public school finance with many of his articles being published in The Journal of Education Finance and other academic publications. He has served as a coach, history teacher, guidance counselor, ACCESS Distance Learning Instructor, and school administrator.  Dr. Webber is passionate about rural students, schools and families. He is also passionate about Marshall County. Dr. Webber is a graduate of the Alabama Superintendent's Academy as well as the recipient of many other awards including the SREB Pacesetter Award. Only 1 of 23 schools in the nation received this award for leadership in school improvement.
